Icon is pleased to welcome Shuling Sum as Chief Operating Officer for ASEAN, strengthening regional operational leadership across Icon’s sites in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
As Icon’s ASEAN footprint continues to mature and scale, the establishment of the COO role marks an important next phase in the region’s growth, enhancing operational leadership to drive greater consistency, capability and integration as Icon continues to expand access to high‑quality cancer care.
In this senior leadership role, Shuling will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient operation of Icon sites across the region, supporting the delivery of exceptional patient care.
The COO role will strengthen operational excellence and collaboration with clinical leaders to ensure Icon’s continued leadership in the delivery of holistic cancer care. Beyond this, Shuling will be pivotal in leveraging Icon Group’s global network of services and innovative models of care to enhance the patient experience across our ASEAN portfolio of centres.
Shuling brings extensive healthcare leadership experience across operations, transformation and strategic growth. She has held senior roles within IHH Healthcare, including Head of Laboratory Services at Parkway Laboratories and Assistant Vice President, Group Strategy and Business Development, where she supported multi-market operating models, performance frameworks, and regional development initiatives. She has also contributed to greenfield hospital operations and led teams responsible for hospital revenue operations, engagement and service recovery.
Shuling holds an MBA from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor of Science from The University of British Columbia.
