Biography
Dr. Losen is a medical oncologist and haematologist with close to 30 years of clinical experience in treating a broad range of cancers and blood disorders. He completed his medical degree at Udayana University in 1997, followed by his residency in Internal Medicine in 2006. Driven by a deep commitment to oncology and haematology, he completed his specialist training program in 2014, qualifying him as a consultant in both fields. In 2021, Dr. Losen obtained his PhD in Medical Sciences from Udayana University.
With a passion in oncology and haematology, Dr. Losen joined Prof. Ngoerah Hospital, Denpasar, Bali’s Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology in 2007 and was subsequently promoted to be the Head of the Hematology and Medical Oncology division. With more than 15 years of oncology experience, Dr. Losen has significantly contributed to the advancement of cancer care in Bali.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Losen is an active researcher with over two decades of contributions in hematology and oncology, both nationally and internationally. His research spans a range of topics, such as diagnostic methods in thrombocytopenia and leukemia, supportive care during chemotherapy, and the management of complex haematologic and solid malignancies. He is also a regular speaker at international scientific conferences and forums.
Dr. Losen serves as the Chair of the Indonesian Oncology Association (POI) Bali chapter and is also a respected member of several professional organisations, including the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the Indonesian Society of Hematology and Medical Oncology (Perhompedin), the Indonesian Association of Internal Medicine Specialists (PAPDI, Bali chapter), and the Indonesian Society of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (PHTDI, Denpasar chapter).
Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia, Dr. Losen supports patients in both languages throughout their treatment journey.
